Las Vegas is growing again and with that, a lot of people are moving to Las Vegas. People from all walks of life including: employees in the hospitality industry, new construction workers and, our beloved military families. Las Vegas has so much to offer that once you come to Las Vegas you’ll never want to leave!  You can find great priced houses to rent or buy in some of the best neighborhoods in the greater Las Vegas area.

So you made the decision you are moving your family to Las Vegas.  The countdown begins now! We know you are excited; we’re excited for you too! We want to help you make a smooth move to Las Vegas, so we have put together five tips that may help you along your journey:

  1. Find a REALTOR © – You want to have the expert advice from a trusted professional when you move to a new city.  A REALTOR © can give you the ins and outs of the city and which neighborhood will fit your family just right! Even if you are not financially ready to purchase a home or not sure which area to live, a Coldwell Banker Premier Realty agent can help you rent or buy your next home in Las Vegas. Our agents can give you the ins and outs of buying or renting in Las Vegas.

  1. Book the Moving Truck – Make sure you have confirmed your reservation for your truck rental to Las Vegas. You’ll want to stock up on the favors from friends to help you with the heavy lifting. Plan a going away party. And don’t worry, when you live in Las Vegas everyone wants to visit you. You’ll see your friends again soon.

  1. Tune-up Your Car & Map App – Nothing like arriving in a new city and then having your car stall out on you in this big city.  Plan to have your car tuned up before you leave, so you are ready to go once you arrive in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is a bigger city than you think, especially surrounding areas including Henderson and the new developments in North Las Vegas.  Take some time and study the highways and major roads on your map app.

  2. Find a Job – Have multiple interviews setup before arriving into town. Yes, this is a valuable tip for moving to any city but we wanted to reiterate because it applies especially to living and working in Las Vegas.  If you only have one interview lined up, we wish you luck but sometimes things don’t go as planned. By having multiple job interviews scheduled, you may find that one is more beneficial or more stable than the others.

  1. Recalculate your internal temperature – The great thing about living in Las Vegas is there are only 3 seasons; Summer, Fall and Spring. Yes, it does get chilly for a few weeks in Las Vegas. And when you get the urge for snow you can visit the white stuff in Utah or Mt. Charleston. But you will be more likely wearing shorts in November and December than a parka. Get ready to adjust for some hot summers. Las Vegas can be over 100 degrees for weeks in the summer. It’s all worth it when you are enjoying the mild climate of the winter.
